In a letter addressed to the President’s office, Article 19, Federation of African Journalists and Africa Freedom of Information Centre urged the government of Senegal to enact Access to Information law.
Senegal remains among the 26 African Countries that have not yet enacted the Access to Information law, the rest being; Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Gabon, Guinea Bissau, Lesotho, Libya. Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal and Somalia.
